Skywatch Friday and.........

This has been the blue of our skies as of late.......reached 90 degrees yesterday! See the bird in the top of the tree? Wonder what it is? Double Knockout Roses to the left, Plumbago, Rosemary, Jane Cowell Hibiscus, Snapdragons and Petunias.

Funny to see a Daff blooming with all the spring and summer blooms.
Morning Glory is taking off!! It's okay that I'll be pulling extras up next spring.
Hyacinth Bean Vine is starting to grow on the lattice.

Then I heard this noisy little thing. Pileated Woodpecker.

I had a huge pileated woodpecker hopping around my backyard on Monday afternoon. I have seen them back there before, but never one that big! Not sure what that bird is up in your tree. It's a beautiful SkyWatch picture though! Can't believe it was 90 degrees yesterday!

Saw my first Pileated Woodpecker while in Michigan last summer. Looked almost prehistoric.

I agree the Pileated Woodpeckers are noisy, but still trying to capture a good photo. Not common at home, but they are in Cades Cove. Love the pic with the snapdragons in the background.

Gorgeous blooms Darla, your garden is really growing quickly. Thanks for reminding me I need to plant the Hyacinth Vine seeds that Brenda gave me last year. Oop! ;)

I still have yet to see a pileated woodpecker. Maybe they don't homestead here.

Beautiful as always there!! How neat to have the woodpecker visit. We had one once and I was surprised at how big is was.

Looks as if you have a mockingbird -- when he flies, you'll see white on the tail if so -- they love to pose like that.

I love to hear the pock, pock of a woodpecker's call as he patrols the pecan trees looking for insects.

I really love those snap dragons! And neat photos of the Pileated! They are usually hard to photography since they are so shy! :)
